Nancy J. Schroeder

 

Nancy J. Schroeder has worked primarily in New England and the Southwest capturing landscapes, moment photography, adventure and art photography. Nancy graduated with a BFA in Photography from the University of Arizona. Her professional career has spanned over 20 years including 5 years on Martha’s Vineyard. She was a staff photographer for the Martha’s Vineyard Times shooting black and white community news. Her adventurous side brought her to backpacking many long distance scenic trails of North America, documenting her travels for lectures and workshops at adventure companies such as REI, L.L. Beans, Eastern Mountain Sports, Adventure 16, and Women outdoors. She has completed The Pacific Crest Trail, The John Muir Trail, Vermont’s Long Trail and The Penne Way in England. Nancy has been with Miraval Life in Balance since the opening in 1995. Then, she was taking a break from her photography career and focused more on outdoor experiencial education by leading hikes and challenge activities. In 1997, Nancy designed a program called Photography in Focus which today has developed into the Photography Program at Miraval now offering 13 programs film and digital 7 days a week. Nancy contributes to local and national publications such as The New York Times.
